Threshing is the process of separating grain from the straw.

Prior to automated machinery, farmers spread the sheaves on the wooden floor of a barn. The farmer would then run cattle and oxen over the sheaves repeatedly to accelerate the process.

This technique created a unique rustic floor that we call Thresher Floor.
